Death in a family can be sorrowful & even devastating in some cases but, yet, it can certainly be a blessing for those suffering with pain or no real quality of life, both for the decedent & their family. May God bless & comfort you as you lay your father to peaceful rest in the arms of our Lord.🙏
My sincerest condolences. My parents died over 10 years ago. Both had dementia. It is rough, but you will see them again with perfect bodies and minds. We have the promise of our savior that he will come again, to judge the living and the dead and will raise up those of us who are believers and followers. Kindest thoughts and prayers for you.
My dad died in a veteran’s hospital in Washington State. His memory was slowly deteriorating and then swiftly disappeared and he no longer remembered us, his children anymore.
It's never easy to loose a loved one but it sounds like your dad was a wonderful person who lived and died on his own terms and it doesn't get much better than that. And I am certain that he treasured having the constant companionship and comfort of his wife/your mother throughout the final chapters of his life. His physical body is at peace but his spirit remains.
I am so sorry to hear about this, Mike. It sounds like your dad was an incredible man who lived a great and fulfilling life and went home to be with the Lord on the best possible terms. All your friends at Marco Polo are praying for you and your family as you celebrate your Dad's life and say goodbye. God bless!
Sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family. Strength and honor.
Thanks, Yuri
Mike, I know this is both relief and sorrow. You are certain that your father’s course was run and can now be at peace
We are all going to deal with this sooner or later, if we haven't already.
We know that stopping eating is the sign it is coming soon.
For me, stopping shaving is worrying me too as the first step on that decline.
Nothing against beards, just not for me.
Don't fear the reaper may be a weird reply, but it seems appropriate for all of us.

Thanks, Dan. It was difficult to watch him wasting away, but he wanted to go out his way.
I'm watching my mother go through this exact same thing now too.
It's so depressing, like seeing our own future destiny in real time.
It makes a grown man cry in such painful sadness.
Yeah, Dan. Sorry for that. Prayer helped me a lot. The more I prayed, the less I feared what was inevitable.
Thanks, WT …
My prayers for you and your family. An for your father may God welcome him into eternal peace in Heaven.
Thanks, PPa…nice

Thanks, Father. I prayed my rosary today and Mom did too. Dad got Last Rights on Thursday and prayed the Our Father. He’s in a better place
I met you very briefly at Mar-a-lago. I will remember your father at Mass tomorrow.
