Something evil this way comes.

The murderous shooting of two West Virginia National Guard heroes in Washington, D.C., just hours before Thanksgiving, has the city and our government on alert. It should. The Afghan national who perpetrated that crime and is now in custody was a CIA-trained mercenary.

Rahmanullah Lakanwal was paid in our American dollars to kill the Taliban in Afghanistan and then, as a result of Joe Biden’s inept withdrawal of our military from that foreign policy nightmare, brought to the United States to fend for himself.

Unfortunately, what happened in Afghanistan isn’t confined to Afghanistan.

But what exactly happened in Afghanistan? What was the CIA doing there?

Bad things, for a long time, involving our government, our so-called media, and our military. The evil done there was at the direction of some of our national leaders. It occurred over decades. Understanding who exactly was involved in that secret operation is one goal I have for writing this Substack.

And this one is going to be a doozy.

The official story was during the 1980s and early 1990s, the United States (read CIA) was arming and assisting Osama bin Laden to fight the Soviets. But then after the Soviet Union dissolved, our mysterious Saudi “asset” needed a new enemy (or the CIA did). And so, Osama bin Laden in 1995 declared war on the West, mostly the U.S., through a communique he shared with the world from a cave in Afghanistan. From then on, the rules of engagement were clear, we (first the CIA, then the military) were hunting bin Laden and his al Qaeda terror network in the Hindu Kush.

That official version, however, is demonstrably false.

Recently, Tucker Carlson has undertaken a reexamination of what led to the 9/11 attack. He’d also earlier in the spring interviewed Robert O’Neill, the Navy SEAL who killed bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in May 2011. I subscribe to TCN, Tucker Carlson Network, and recommend it. Not only does he have access to significant newsmakers, he has an interesting variety of topics and perspectives.

Here’s a brief look at his interview with Michael Scheuer, a CIA case officer, who headed the unit tasked with hunting bin Laden pre-9/11. This is but one example Scheurer offers about the Clinton and Bush administrations actually protecting bin Laden. Here’s the link to the paywalled report on TCN.

Here’s a reminder: In the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, when America was arming bin Laden and his mujahideen, our president was George H.W. Bush, former vice president and former CIA Director. Dick Cheney was his Secretary of Defense.

Cheney used to joke with audiences that about how he “helped” George W. Bush pick a vice president and he wound up with the job. Looking back on it, it’s not at all funny.

Now, here’s my perspective of Dick Cheney’s funeral. I recorded this two days before the Thanksgiving Eve attack on our National Guard heroes.

At this point, what I know of traveling with the White House to Afghanistan (twice with Cheney) and Pakistan (twice with Cheney) and Iraq (once with Cheney, twice with Biden) figures into my understanding of what was actually taking place. And it gets dark. So, I’m putting it behind a paywall.
