Was it something Joe said?

Laptop COVID (Part One)

1/31/2022

15 mins

Thanks to my second bout of COVID in two years, I currently can’t taste anything. I expect that will soon wear off. What won’t wear off is the damage that virus, derived from a Chinese Communist Party lab in Wuhan, has done to our world. How exactly it was developed with American taxpayer money remains a mystery, although I have a suspicion Joe Biden had something to do with it.

But I will connect more dots on that in later posts.

COVID finally caught up with my unvaxed and very careful wife. Two full years of her cautious approach to the pandemic (masking in public, limited travel, limited group exposures, and a healthy sugar- and alcohol-free diet) was briefly interrupted by headaches, a sore throat, fatigue, and, of course, a positive PCR test. Given all that we had been conditioned to believe about the Wuhan virus, it was a little bit scary.

But just a little bit. Within five days she was better. No Ivermectin, no hospitalization, no regrets.

Lessons about living with COVID, yes. But no regrets.

She was exposed on a Monday in mid-January through an inadvertent unmasked interaction with a symptom-free neighbor, whose children had unknowingly brought COVID home from sports activities. Their warnings and positive tests led to my wife’s positive test.

We met the news with a shrug. Not fear, not worry, certainly not anger. It’s winter. It’s cold season, not a big deal. Mommy is sick, and we are going to have to quarantine was our initial reaction — me, my wife, 21y son, 14y daughter, 10y son. And as two more of us, myself included, came down with Mommy’s COVID (we are four unvaxed, Son #1 vaxed per college mandate), the experience was tough on our family.

Our two boys never got it — Son #1, who masked in and out of the house and who kept his distance in his room, and unvaxed Son #2, who was as wild, rambunctious, and unmasked as any 10y boy should be.

Based on Son #1’s example, we learned the vaccines and masking are effective at fending off the virus, though isolation is the consequence. I hope he learned from our example that with the right precautions and early interventions COVID is really just a bad flu. He continues to believe getting the vaccine was the right choice for him but understands it’s not for everyone — same as President Trump. Son #1 is a smart kid, and I respect his judgment.

Son #2’s example taught us that kids should be kids — no masks, no vax, no fear. My wife believes her supplementing Son #2’s diet with vitamins A and D helped him avoid infection — because he certainly wasn’t masking or keeping his distance from us in the house.

In fact, I think it was a brief “kick the ball with me, Daddy” session in our chilly front yard that brought on my sore throat and one day in bed, the culmination of my very mild symptoms. Within a day, I was back on my feet.

What that experience taught me is we have to live our lives. Soccer with my 10y son was important for our shared emotional health. No regrets.

I will say as a post-script to my infection, I have not tasted any food for several days, and I seem to be short of breath more readily than in the recent past. I don’t expect either of these conditions to last very long.

My 14y daughter spent the longest time in bed of all of us, about three days. Of all of us, she was the one I worried about most. She’s somewhat immuno-compromised with a history of Lyme disease. It was for that reason we were urging her not to get vaccinated, despite the intense peer pressure she was facing at school and in her sports activities.

It really has been awful for her to be the lone unvaxed teen. And even now after conquering COVID, she still wants to fit in with her pals. As I write this, I don’t know what we will do about her desire to get vaccinated. But it confirms to me the deep damage Joe Biden’s Democrats’ “health scare” politics are doing to our families and our country.

Though we never got tested, I believe my daughter and I were also COVID infected in February 2020, meaning we both have substantial antibodies. Not once since then have I been afraid of COVID or sick in the slightest way — last week being the exception. It was the healthiest 23 months of my life. Nor did I ever shed any virus or infect a single person. Of that I’m sure.

My daughter, however, doesn’t want to discuss antibodies. All she knows are the bureaucratic barriers politicians local and national have forced into her life.

And ours.

When my wife first tested positive, I was actually relieved for us all. The “get vaxed or else” freak out has gotten so overbearing, this was our chance to prove we were better than all the ridiculous hype and hysteria. It was also our chance to educate our children about COVID firsthand, face to face, parent to child. This was a family matter, and we would beat it as a family. And that’s what we did.

Or at least I thought we did, but now I’m not so sure. We’re not out of the woods yet. My daughter may yet opt to get vaxed. And that concerns me.

Unfortunately politics has become a big part of the uncertainty. When asked why I don’t want to get vaxed I state simply: I don’t trust an experimental vaccine that was developed to a ward off a virus that was manufactured in a lab in China by CCP virologists.

Period.

Not everyone in this country shares my view because not everyone shares my politics. Heck, not everyone in my family shares my politics, and it’s been the politics of COVID that have made the past two years so hard on so many people.

But I know my suspicions of both the virus and the vaccines are justified because I traveled to China with then Vice President Biden twice and President Obama once, and I know there are dots yet to be connected. And I also know no one is doing that.

Yet.

So here’s the first big dot, and the reason why I started this post with that statement of my suspicion of Joe Biden’s involvement in the CCP development of COVID. It has to do with the very unusual nature of this particular virus, which affects the elderly most severely.

I’m no virologist, but I believe most pandemics, like the Spanish flu of 1918, have dire consequences for the very old AND very young. But COVID-19 affects only the very old. Kids, as my 10y son proved, are by and large impervious.

With that in mind, I asked virologist and retired U.S. Army Reserve colonel Larry Sellin, who has written extensively on the CCP’s involvement in developing COVID-19 as a bioweapon, if a virus could be developed to specifically target the elderly. His reply was an inconclusive, “I don’t know.”

But it wasn’t a no. And if anyone out there can provide an answer to my question, that would be very helpful. It may just unlock the motivation behind COVID-19.

But why would I raise that particular question in conjunction with Joe Biden? Other than the fact he slithered into the White House under cover of the pandemic, there’s more to it. It has to do with a statement he made when answering a question from a student at Sichuan University in August 2011, when he was first developing a personal relationship with Xi Jinping.

At the time it seemed a reasonable response to a question the Chinese had for Joe. But now in hindsight, given that the two people in the world who have most benefited from the 2020 CCP pandemic are Biden and Xi, Joe’s words deserve a deeper dive.

When asked in August 2011 about America’s then fiscal struggles, Joe made an interesting observation about China’s very restrictive one-child policy, which I discussed in my book Joe Biden Unauthorized and the 2020 Crackup of the Democratic Party in a passage written months before the COVID-19 outbreak.

What Joe pointed out to the questioner and all his countrymen was that the China’s future economic growth would be severely impacted by the ratio of young to old due to the CCP’s  brutal one-child policy.

This is what Joe said:

“But as I was talking to some of your leaders, you share a similar concern here in China. You have no safety net. Your policy has been one which I fully understand — I’m not second-guessing — of one child per family. The result being that you’re in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people. Not sustainable.”

Did you catch that? Joe in 2011 is telling the Chinese people they have too many old people — by a ratio of four to one. And at the same time he deftly informs them that he’s explained that to their leaders, which at the time definitely included Xi. It’s noteworthy that he unrolls this devastating observation out in a public forum — actually the most public forum of that trip. Plus, he unveils it as an answer to a question from a student in the audience. Very effective, especially in China.

And as he’s telling the Chinese public this, he’s also telling Xi and the other leaders their goal of dominating the world economy will be burdened by all the old people their younger generations will have as their family responsibility.

Now think how those CCP leaders, some of the murderous criminals in the history of the world, would fix such a problem. Is it out of the realm of possibility that they would concoct a virus to do their dirty work, especially one partly paid for by American taxpayers?

Here’s a screenshot of the passage of that speech as archived on the Obama WhiteHouse.gov website.

Like I said: I don’t trust an experimental vaccine that was developed to a ward off a virus that was manufactured in a lab in China by CCP virologists who may or may not have been motivated by something Joe Biden said.
